Mullarkey Pedersen Architects, as part of an ongoing appointment with Dublin City University, were commissioned as Grade 1 Conservation Architects to consult on the services upgrade of a number of buildings on the historic DCU All Hallows Campus. This included the impressive College Chapel which was completed circa 1897 and designed by renowned architect J.J. McCarthy.

The college chapel underwent a full electrical upgrade to incorporate fire detection and security alarm systems, an upgraded PA system, data points and consolidated power outlets. Existing decorative fixtures were refurbished and rewired.
Careful consideration and planning was required during both the design and construction phases to ensure the successful integration of these systems whilst minimising the impact on the historic fabric and aesthetic.

European Road Safety research shows that early driving experiences reduces road traffic accidents by 40%. With 1 in 5 young people being involved in a traffic accident within 6 months of passing their driving test, any move that reduces this statistic can only be described as positive.
The Cruise Centre’s Young Driver Programme promotes young driver road safety - safer roads and safer drivers.

"Bishop’s Gate Hotel has greatly enhanced Derry’s tourism and hospitality product. Since it opened in March 2016 the restored building has attracted thousands of visitors, many coming to finally ‘get inside’ the landmark building which had been off limits for so long. The hotel has bucked the trend for smaller, start-up businesses in the tourism sector, winning “Hideaway of the Year 2017” and taking second place in the entire UK in the coveted TripAdvisor ‘Travellers’ Choice Award."
We are pleased to announce the results of the Northern Ireland Tourism Awards and the North West Business Awards, hosted by Londonderry Chamber and Commerce, in which the Bishop’s Gate Hotel was shortlisted in a number of categories.
